18 Axonometrics (Selection)

Basic Axonometric- Front

The very first axonometric pair that I created. Simple two plane design except with vertical spaces between the prisms to give the illusion of hovering.

2+ Plane Axonometric- Front

First experimentation with more than two planes. Harder to draw but ultimately more interesting shapes.

Futuristic Series: A three part series of axonometrics that I built upon throughout experiment 2. Representative in form of my concept for the 'futuristic'. Ultimately inspired the design for the roof of my light rail stop

Collaboration Series: Originating from experimentation with subtracting prism for axonometric in week 1, this series epitomises the collaboration concept as an interaction and merger of different prism. Also, acted as an influence for the design of walkway railing in the final model.

Combined Axonometric- Front

One of the combined axonometrics from week 2. Interesting shape.
Helped stimulated the idea to integrate one of digitalised axonometric as a featured piece in the final model

Model Progress

W1: Themes and 6 Axonometric

Themes

Contextual: how architecture is inspired by the space and time around it. eg. Hadid’s Vitra Fire Station which resembles nearby farmland and vineyards.

Futuristic: how computers have altered the nature architecture and allowed the design of improbable forms like the 'Bird Nest' of HDM or the renowned curves of Hadid

Collaboration: idea of working together on an architectural project whether this be with artists on a building or interactions with the public

Conceptual: how the concept is more important than the form, a reflection of modernity

Illusion: an investigation into optical illusion and how appearance may not reflect reality. Shown by HDM in their use of glass at Tate Modern in front of a brick wall to make the transparent look solid.
